Farmer’s Market update-and new products!

This past Saturday I welcomed Beth Iden to the Cause for Creation booth. Beth is a long time Shenandoah Valley resident and founder and President of LOEP-Liberian Orphan Education Project. Beth also is very crafty and sews beautiful market tote bags, baby bibs and other items with authentic African fabrics!

Beth makes annual trips to Liberia as administrator and coordinator of LOEP teacher training projects, and when she returns she always has a large supply of these eye-popping, colorfully printed African fabrics! She sews these lovely bags and bibs and sells them for 100% donation to LOEP. The gorgeous market tote bags sell for only 10.00 each and are perfect for “green” shopping, and many other uses!

So this season I will pleased to be offering these beautiful handmade fabric items along with my usual cards and paper. Please stop by and see us, buy some unique gifts and art, and know that you are helping to support teacher training, children, and agriculture in the part of our world community known as Liberia.

Please note, I will NOT be at the market on Saturday May 1st.

Thanks to all of  my customers, and I hope to see you at the market very soon!

Spring is here and I have new cards coming…

I will be vending at the Harrisonburg Downtown Farmer’s Market beginning Sat. April 17. I have some very unique cards embedded with sea oats and leaves, along with some new fun African animal designs, and botanical pen and ink watercolors. As usual, all are mounted on handmade paper. You may CLICK HERE  for a preview.

LOEP team is back home

The 2010 LOEP teacher training mission has been completed and the team is back home. Please take a look at their link to see what has been accomplished with some help from your Cause for Creation purchases!  http://loeporphans.blogspot.com/

Meanwhile, I am working on new papers and cards which I should have ready in April some time. I am working on some new papers including tea leaf and “junk mail”, plus my popular standbys of marigold, hydrangea, straw, and grass.  I hope to see you in April!

Happy New Year 2010!

Thanks to all who supported the Christmas card project! Proceeds will benefit the upcoming LOEP 2010 teacher training trip. See more about this very important mission: http://loeporphans.blogspot.com/

Meanwhile, I will be busy for the next couple of months while I go into creativity mode so that I can re-stock my inventory for the upcoming farmer’s market season. I am completely out of paper and everything else, so I will be very busy starting from scratch to rebuild my stock!

Hope to see you at the Harrisonburg Dowtown Farmer’s Market starting in late April 2010!

“Seeds of hope” are on the way to Liberia!

Thanks to the wonderful support of my farmer’s market customers, we were able to fulfill a request from our friends at AAMOM for much needed vegetable and herb seeds. This will enable the agriculture students to continue to develop their skills, provide food for the orphanage, and also cash crop to help support the school and farm. Along with the seeds, I also packed some of my cards and handmade paper in the box for the children to see how the money was donated.

How appropriate that Farmer’s Market customers are helping to support agriculture in such a needy part of the world. Thanks to all of you who help support this effort!
